Who we are:
Primitive Applied is the commercial/ branded division of Primitive Creative Collective. Our artists come from different disciplines and backgrounds including film, documentary, visual art, poetry, architecture, music, fine art, illustration, and writing..
What we do:
Through Primitive Applied, clients, agencies, and production companies can work with our artists in the creation of branded and commission work. At the end of the day, the directors, cinematographers, artists, and talent ARE the expression of a brand through their images and ideas. Primitive Applied streamlines the process by cutting out needless steps and prioritizing the ideas and needs of the project.
How we work:
We have an alternative approach to creating branded and commercial work by using what some might consider an upside down model. We put brands and agencies directly in contact with the people actually making the work and then find production partners who best fit the project's needs and the specific vision. From our experience, this ensures more resources end up on screen and maximizes the impact on the audience/ customer.
OUR APPROACH
Traditional Model:
1: The client has product or service and wants to market it.
They hire:
2: An ad agency who develops a plan/ idea/ campaign.
Who hires:
3: A production company to produce those ideas.
Who then hire:
4; Directors, DOPs, Talent, artists, and photographers to actually make the work.
Our Way of Doing Things:
1: The client/ agency has a product or service and wants to market it.
They work directly with:
2: Our artists, directors, and talent to come up with ideas that best fit the needs of the client/ agency and then determine what resources are needed to make the biggest impact.
At this point we choose:
3: A production partner that fits the specific vision and the needs of the project best.
...that's it.
THE DIFFERENCE
Through the traditional model, by the time resources reach the people actually making the work that will be shown to the audience/ customer, it is only a fraction of what the client initially started with and oftentimes many compromises have to be made that effect the quality and effectiveness of the work.
But through Primitive Applied, we bring the client/ agency closer to the artists and talent actually making the work and are able to focus more resources onscreen and directly to the customer. With the same budget and resources we can create higher quality and more effective work. This allows clients to get the most out of marketing budgets, agencies to get results that better match the quality they expect for their initial ideas and concepts and overall, a more bespoke way of making branded/ commercial work.
